Any recommendation for red or white wine?

I'm a wine novice, so I need some guidance!

If you live in the USA I suggest you spanish wines since their price is more competitive than french or italian and their quality is even better.
White: Any Sauvignon Blanc, Albariño or Rueda Varieties
Red: Any Rioja or Ribera de Duero Varieties
Do not worry about the brands just choose the right varieties by reading the labels. Believe me and you will not regret. I work as a somelier at an european restaurant
