Default Is it appropriate to have a toast with wine after our wedding at the church?

The reception will be held in the reception hall. I have no intention of toasting inside the actual church.

If your church allows it on the premises, sure.

If you are asking if it's appropriate to toast with wine rather than champagne - yes, any drink is perfectly fine to use for a toast. (Provided that your venue allows it.)

It really depends on the church -many do not allow alcohol. That's the main reason there's a (champagne) toast early on in the reception.

If the church is ok with it! Most churches allow wine or champagne for the toast! Even Jesus drank wine so they really can't say much LOL

Not in the sanctuary. If the reception is in a reception hall away from the sanctuary and the church is okay with it, then yes.

Check with the church secretary for their rules.

Do you mean that your RECEPTION is also being held at the church (in the fellowship hall?) If so, and if the church allows it, then it is perfectly fine. Check with the church office if this is OK.

If you mean that you are getting married in a church, but having the reception elsewhere....well, there is no reason NOT to have a toast with wine if you want to. Nothing prohibiting it just because you had a church wedding.

Yeah it really depends on the church and the attendees views on church. I know my church would have no issue but my grandmother who is very religious might not think too highly of it. My advice is not only to gauge the church but also the attendees.

It's not appropriate if the church prohibits drinking alcohol, which some churches do prohibit.
