I believe you can bring in as much as you want but are subject to tax and duty
after the statutary exemption.

Depending on where you go. Within the EU you can bring in any amount so long as you can prove it is for personal consumption! Outside the EU you can bring in the equivalent of 2 litres of fortified wine and 4 litres of table wine. Check this before you go! is my advice. Spirits 1 litre!
