Default How do I go about choosing what type of wine to give as favors at my wedding?

We have decided to give mini bottles of wine with personalized labels for our wedding favors. I found a website (weddingwinefavors.com) that looks like a good place to order them, but there are just way too many to pick from and I''m no wine expert. How do I even begin to choose?? Any advice is really appreciated!

They have a sparkling wine option, go with that. Nothing says celebration like bubbly!

The Freixenet they carry is a decent, completely unoffensive glass.

I would go with a mix of red wine and white wine. I would recommend choosing the Gallo Chardonnay and Merlot (the cheapest option) or the Woodbridge Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Both are well known wineries and would do fine for this purpose. It would probably make the most sense to take the cheapest option since most people couldn't tell the difference anyway. Just make them look good with a nice label! From a wine enthusiast - Please NO White Zin!

Go with a white zinfandel - a blush wine. Liked by people who like both red or white wine. I'd go with the Gallo brand (I don't know the Barefoot brand).

If you're sure all of your invited guests drink, then it's a good idea, otherwise I have been to a wedding where I got a beautiful bottle stopper. Then for those that didn't drink, they could use it on their decorative cooking oil bottles.

A nice choice would be a sweet white dessert wine or ice wine if you have money to burn.

Congratulations. I wish you a lifetime of wedded bliss. And a small verbal gift for you:

Never go to bed mad and never say no.

Most people have varying tastes with wine, but try a mix of red and white. A good median red is a Shiraz and a great white is a Sauvignon Blanc. These two varieties should please most.

Get the small bottles of Asti Spumante. It's a great semi-sweet champagne style and would be great for a festive occasion.
