It is better to store it at room temperature or if it is hot where you are, in a cool place.

NO NO NO! Red wine should always be stored in a (preferebly dark) room temp place, like your cubbard in a kitchen or den. NEVER refigerate it. If it has not been opened, get yourself a wine rack and lay it on it's side on in a wine rack...

I do because I live in the desert. Hot weather is not good for wine. Hot meaning 90 degrees & up.

I just put red wine in the fridge in summer and usually just 1 hour before i wanna drink it. But it is best to keep it in a special wine fridge if you dont have a wine cellar.
Especially should not get to hot and you should not store it where it can be reached by daylight!
