Default Do you actually "drink " the wine at a wine tasting event?

What is the proper etiquette?

You don't drink it. You taste it and if you like it, then you drink it. That is the best etiquette. Its not an empty advise. I have done and so have my friends so I think its ok.

The option to spit it out will be available at a wine tasting room. I prefer to drink a small amount of a few choices to spitting. Both are acceptable. It you want to sample a large variety then I recommend you stand near the spittoon. If it is at a home and a spittoon is not offered then stick to only a few wines.

You drink it to taste it, but you spit it out. If you drank everything you tasted you'd end up drunk.

Generally speaking, you drink the samples at a wine tasting. The servings are usually small enough that you can taste alot of wines without getting drunk.
