Default What kind of wine goes best with pastas?

I'm preparing a small party and I would like to surprise my guest with pasta and wine but I don't know what kind of wine to serve.

Most Italian wines are produced in three main Italian regions: Piedmont (Barolo), Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Amarone, Pinot Grigio) and Tuscany (Chianti, Brunello). Also try wines from Puglie, Sicily and Sardinia (Cannonau, Vernaccia).

Red wines go with red pasta sauce. If you are going with an Alfredo or butter sauce go with white.

Personally for a red I like Shiraz. White go with a Chardonnay or a Zinfandel.

If you mean pasta with tomato sauce, get Chianti (It's very dry) or a semi-sweet red like Bully Hill Growers Red.

If you're having a white sauce like Alfredo, or chicken with your pasta, serve a fruity white wine like Chardonnay.

If you're serving shrimp or other seafood with your pasta, get a nice rose' wine.

Sounds delicious!
