Default Is it Ok to store an opened bottle of red wine in a place where it'll be...

...exposed to sunlight? Also, how long after opening a bottle of cabernet sauvignon will it go bad and lose its quality?

Sunlight is definitely not good for wine unopened or otherwise. Usually wine is good for 12-18 hours after you open it.

You should not store Any wine, opened or not, in sunlight. Wine should be stored in a dark place at about 55 degrees F, opened or not. Use the wine within 24 hours after opening if at all possible.

Making wine is a very simple process. But storing it is a difficult.we should not keep wine in a light place, otherwise it will be spoiled. It should be always kept in cool place and dark place then only fermentation will take place nicely. It should be always closed and kept in dark place.then only you will have a good wine to have.

Wine should be stored in a dark place, no sunlight, as mentioned. If you are going to store it outside of the refrigerator, it will not last for more than 24 hours. If you want it to keep longer, stick it in the refrigerator. The issue is that the wine has come in contact with oxygen. In order to slow the oxygenation process, the lower temperature is good and a red will keep for about 3 days, a white up to one week. However, be sure to remove them from the refrigerator before serving. One hour before for red, 15 minutes to half hour for whites. If it is too late already, keep it in the refrigerator and pour it into the next marinara that you make. It really compliments a good red pasta sauce.
