Default What sparkling wine or champagne would go well with chocolate covered strawberries?

Hi, I'm doing something very romantic for my girlfriend this week and I want either a champagne or sparkling wine that will complement chocolate covered strawberries. We are not wine-drinkers so I want it to be sweet. Alcohol content is not important... maybe around %8?

Unfortunately I cannot spend very much right now. I assume that means I cannot get us champagne. I'm looking in the price range of $10-30.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Try a Chandon Blanc de Noire. It's a California champagne made using red grapes (skins removed so it only has the faintest blush) and it was made to go with chocolate covered anything. It runs about 18-25 bucks.

Hope your special event rocks!

Lindauer Fraise - it's a New Zealand sparkling wine, strawberry flavoured as the name suggests.

You can buy it here

Champagne... Moet Chandon White Star is good, but it might be a little over your budget.... slightly. I think the last bottle I bought was around $32, but it's good. And it's real champagne, not a sparkling wine.

You can't have sweet champagne with sweet strawberries.... they can't compete! Sweet with sweet doesnt go well. Stick to regular or dry champagne/sparkling wine

red wine and chocolate are anti-oxidants, but work better than the sum of the two when combined in moderation

healthy

Yes, you definitely don't want to get a cheap champagne.... better to wait until you can afford the good stuff (which runs well over $100) ....Actually, red wine complements chocolate the best! Get a nice California cabernet or merlot ($10-$15 is fine). Let it breathe before you drink it.....

Trick question.

Champagne refers to sparkling wines that comes specifically from the Champagne region of France; everything else is a sparkling wine, but trust me, it is a champagne.

That said, Korbel is pretty good at about $12
