Yes, for a short time, and since it has been opened keep it upright.

If it has been opened acetobacter bacteria can grow and convert the wine to vinegar, storing it in the fridge slows the spoilage process so you can finish it before it turns.

You need to buy a Vac-U-Vin, just google it to find it online, but they sell them at Target. It is a rubber stopper that goes where the cork went and there's a small hand pump that you use to pump the air out of the bottle so the wine keeps a little longer.

Opened wine only keeps for about seven days with this system, but there is one added benefit. Since it's a vacuum seal, you can store the bottle on its side again.

for about 3 days it will be fine then it will go bad and taste gross but will not have any seriously harmful bacteria in it since is alcohol which bacteria cannot grow in. keep it well sealed and upright

It is not advisable. Wine starts to age rapidly after you open it. In order to keep that effect to a minimum, you want to put it into the fridge. Nonetheless, you should drink it within few days.

Also, since you should drink white wine chilled anyway, might as well put it into the fridge in the first place.

I usually keep white wine chilled when I store it. Reds I store in a cool dark area.

Temperature is very important when storing any wine. Aim for a temperature of 45ºF - 50ºF for white wine. Beyond the actual number on the thermometer, you also need to consider consistency of temperature – wild fluctuations in temperature are not good for wine.
