Default We are going to Margaret River. What other activities are there in the

region besides wine tasting? My husband and I love the Margaret River wines and will visit some of the vineyards. As we plan to hire a car and spend about a week driving around we are looking for some other suggestions of things to do.

I was holidaying in Margs just recently, if you go to the Information/Tourist centre that is located on the main drag in town, (it's just down from the settler tavern).. they have heaps of brochures and info on activities you can do, We did a bus tour of the wineries and cheese and chocolate factories I think it came to just over $100 a person, but you can both be driven around and not have to worry about drink driving and enjoy your day, this tour was also fully inclusive with lunch,wine tastings etc included as well.. great day!!

Lovely spot. If you like caves that is also nice to visit. Lovely coast near Yallingup etc. Nice forest bush walking. Of course as everyone has said - eat eat. A friend owns the Berry Farm - of course I will say go there.

There is also a Margaret River Chocolate Factory isn't there?
And the golfing games there are always fun!

I love the Margaret River region! If you are active there are abseiling tours on some of the sea cliffs. Of course the surf is world famous.
If you like things a little less strenuous there are lots of walks in the surrounding forests, art galleries, potteries and yummy restaurants too!
There is the cheese factory not far from Margaret River and the drive to Yallingup is quite pretty.

A drive to Karrivale is worthwhile as is a drive to Hamelin Bay and Augusta. There is a lovely boat trip there that is a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Have fun

Oh you will love it. The vineyards are the main attraction of course, but there are plenty of simply yummo restaurants and cafe's as well - from the really posh to the simplest but all have lovely food.

You can visit the tourist caves as well - there is Mammoth, Jewell and Lake and there are also some not so well known caves that you can visit.

You can join an adventure company and go abseiling - great fun!

There is horseriding, canoeing, fishing, surfing, hiking.

There are cheese and chocolate factories to visit and taste.

If you have kids, they have an indoor heated pool and farm animals to visit.

There are so many art and craft galleries to visit.

It's really close by to Augusta so you can visit the lighthouse there and go on a whale watching cruise, plus a Blackwood River cruise.

There are other little towns nearby that you can visit and there are some simply spectacular places I HAVE to recommend:-

Berry Farm - simply delish food - they also sell wines and produce, set in a pretty little garden over-run with inquisitive birds - very relaxing and yummy;

Bootleg Brewery - again yummy food, great beers and they often have bands performing - you can sit outside and watch - great!;

Flutes Restaurant - another lovely, pretty setting, a bit more posh and lovely food;

Enjoy!!
