Default Would it be weird for me to buy my girlfriends family some wine for a

Christmas present? Ok its a long story but there is this girl that is kind of my girlfriend but not really. Right now things are not so good with us but I still want to get her family something nice for christmas. Would it be weird for me to buy them some wine? There is a local place that I heard makes good wine and part of her family is in another state so I thought it would be nice to get them something that you can only get around here. I just don't want them to take it the wrong way and think I am trying to get them drunk and in the sack making babies again or anything like that.

Anybody have any better ideas what I could get them? Also I did just get laid off so I don't have a ton of money to spend.

Thanks
Well I know they do drink beer and drinks like white russians so I know they don't have anything against alcohol.

Just get them a case of Budweiser. I think every American household would appreciate a case of Budweiser. And if their reaction isn't very enthusiastic then just start yelling alot and using profanity. Then go watch TV and drink alot of beers until you pass out on their couch. That's what I did with my girlfriend's family last Christmas and we're still dating!

Some Christian denominations have a down on wine.So if she belongs to one of those, then get a cake.

That sounds good to me! I usually make a few batches of Irish cream (recipes all over online) to pass out as gifts to the people I cannot afford to buy gifts for.

My brother's fiancee's family likes to drink wine. So he went out and bought them this really nice wine because he knew they would really appreciate it.

So if they don't drink wine like that, then I would find something that they do alot or use alot and buy them that. For instance, if they're a type of family that loves playing games then buy them that.

Good luck finding a gift.

Wine is an excellent choice regardless of the girlfriend status. You should make sure no one in the home is a recovering alcoholic/addict, though. That's the only way your gift would bomb.
